Richard S. Johnson Jr.
Founding Principal
Richard has dedicated over 40 years to real estate, specializing in commercial property management, leasing, and development. Beginning his career with the Bank of Palm Beach & Trust and Flagler National Bank, he transitioned to real estate in 1983. Richard was employed by two prominent South Florida real estate firms, Paul Hanna Management, Inc. and W.G. Lassiter Jr.
Joining Patrick Koenig and Scott Johnson in 1996 to establish Flagler Realty and Development, Inc. Johnson oversees all aspects of the leasing, management, and development of over 1,000,000 square feet of office, retail, and industrial properties.
Actively engaged in the West Palm Beach community, he has served on the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation’s Board of Directors and co-chaired Rosarian Academy’s new gymnasium capital campaign. Mr. Johnson has served Rosarian Academy as Board Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Chairman of the Executive Committee. He has also served on the school’s Finance, Facilities and Development Committee, and has been honored with an emeritus board seat. Though due to his extensive knowledge of the school and its history, and as a grandparent of three students, the school asked him to return as an active Board member. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of Gulfstream Goodwill Industries, YMCA Edwin Brown Branch, and a past management board member of Flagler National Bank. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Richard and Pat Johnson History Museum. Mr. Johnson was awarded the American Free Enterprise Companion Medal by Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2004.
